Week 14

Blog sheet Week 14:

This week’s blog sheet will be as group.
Your blogsheet 14 tasks:

1.       Video of your RG group setup.

Video 1: Group Rube Goldberg setup and brief explanation

2.       Video of your RG group in action
a.       Failed attempt
b.      Successful attempt

Video 2: Group Rube Goldberg Fail

Video 3: Fail again

Video 4: The ultimate fail...

We've been having minor tweaks to take care of, and every time we fixed something, another thing would go wrong. So unfortunately, we don't have a success video (so far).

  1. As a whole, the setup looks awesome! It seems that if everything works as it should, it'll be a really cool group RG! Keep working on it! I'm sure with a few tweaks you guys can make it happen!

  2. Really like all of the solar panels, how much voltage do they output in the lab?

    1. Good question. We don't know; will measure it later.

  3. So many fail videos, does your team have the worst luck or what? It all looks like minor issues though, I doubt they will be too much trouble for you to fix before the demo.

  4. It looks like the toy car is giving you troubles. I hope it works tomorrow. Maybe try putting the car closer to the balloon to begin with so it has less time to fail.

    1. May try that out tomorrow for a quick test run. But we found that having the motor facing a certain direction winds up the string better and the car is then pulled faster.

  5. I really liked the pirate flag being raised which causes the car to run into the balloon and have it pop. Very piratey!

  6. Hey Andrew, I really like that you have the solar panel as well. The part I enjoy the most would be the fact you have a pulley system. This seems so simple yet I think it would be difficult to get the right gears to pull such weight.

  7. I like that you guys all had a similar theme of using the solar panels while still having diverse enough motor systems and mechanical parts of the Rube Goldberg. Well done. Did it end up working for the demos? I couldn't see your section.
